Dennis Nikolov (he/him) is a LEO Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering department. He teaches and coordinates the senior capstone design course (MECHENG 450). Before joining the faculty in the department, Dennis was a Mechanical Engineering PhD student at U-M investigating the mechanical behavior of elastomeric materials using 3D measurement characterization techniques. In his spare time, he enjoys playing board games, and exploring the great state of Michigan with his wife and three dogs.
Teaching and Capstone Design
As Lecturer III and ME 450 Course Coordinator, Dennis guides senior Mechanical Engineering students through their design capstone experience, connecting classroom learning with hands-on engineering practice.
Faculty Advisor, UM Neurodiversity Project
Dennis serves as a faculty advisor to the University of Michigan Neurodiversity Project, contributing an engineering and research lens as the project expands partnerships, programming, and educational opportunities across campus.
