Neurodiversity encompasses the wide spectrum of differences in how people process information, think, learn, and behave. While everyone possesses some degree of neurodiversity, behaviors that fall outside societal norms are described as neurodivergence.
Online learning has expanded access to education for millions of learners, but barriers remain for many, including neurodivergent learners. Creating inclusive online learning experiences requires layered approaches: accessible course materials, flexible learning pathways, and tools that help learners engage with content in ways that work best for them.
Computer science student Jack Seel helped develop Healing Blue, a U-M app that connects faculty, staff, and students with campus mental health resources through a guided screening and tailored results.
